In this pieces the artist depicts a critical language about the irrationality of our times.
Taking the subconscious as a source of inspiration and with influences from her own universe, she creates scenes about reality and imagination, breaking through a metaphysical portal with countless symbols.
Flavia dares to travel through a time-space dimension, leaning in her spirituality and energy to connect different universes.
Working between two waters, between geometric structures and expressionism, she characterizes the combination of strong and spontaneous gestures, drips and splashes that embrace randomness. Using intense and fluorescent colors she develops a sensual visual language that is ferocious at the same time, whichshe. calls ¨the shape of the soul¨
-¨This collection is the result of the experimentation between order and chaos in its pictorial form, where the intention is to create a dialogue between two opposed artistic movements, but that share a same root. Two faces of the same coin, where the perfection and rigidity clashes with the untamed irreverence of the expressionist gesture.
In this manner I can interpret the spirit of the idea and in doing so, create an entrance to a new reality, transforming it in in a new expression and leaving space for reflection and imagination.¨
This series was developed during a period of pure magic, it’s the followup of the arrival to paradise after going through the dense secrets of the cosmos. The techniques used are sprays, gradients, pastel acrylics and lots of glitter.
-“It’s my essence in its purest state, my naked soul, my world of dreams where I study gesture as a vehicle of communication.
In this particular collection I dared to use an element that has accompanied me during all of my life, which is glitter. I’m interested in the optic effect generated when looking at the glitter while moving, how it changes colors depending on where it’s looked upon. It’s a reflection of life itself, absolute kineticism.
In this work, which is still in development, I managed to mix the harsh texture of glitter with the sweet histeria of dripping colors to show mental spaces and vivid emotions. A story of liquid velvet.”
- "I'm interested in studying the emotions generated when the unknown is decontextualized, colors especially.
This project is inspired by architectural perspectives found in Barcelona. Chromatic scenes that emerge from the essence that brews with the colorful and multicultural vibrancy of the city streets"
Rainone reflects in her paintings her personal experience from introspection, capturing in them emotions. She uses a language that is constructivist and abstract, and in doing so, reinterprets the spirit of those moments and emotions.
She intends to invite the spectator towards other atmospheres, stimulating them to reflect about what is created and how we understand it.
Focused on giving life to the dialectics generated in the open spaces, where the sky can be seen. Empty spaces, invisible and undefined, where everything is possible and where the real and unreal come together is where Flavia finds fascination, in the ordinary, where no one looks at.
She suggests that if we know how to observe, "everything can be a museum in an open sky".
